The Training We Provide :

All our Care Workers are required to attend Athlone Care’s induction course. The course teaches the principles of Care and the role of the Care Worker, maintaining safety at work, how to communicate effectively, and how to recognise and respond to abuse and neglect. Within 12 weeks of employment with Athlone Care all employees are required to complete the Home Care Worker Induction Programme, which includes five mandatory courses:

Beyond Recruitment..

Athlone Care employs all the care workers and therefore assumes all of the employment responsibilities,
including regular supervisions and annual appraisals. Athlone Care monitors and supports care workers at all times in addition to four supervisions a year, ensuring that the carer’s training is up to date. At the end of every placement a service user is asked to complete a carer feedback form rating their carer’s performance. We also undertake a quarterly in-house survey. Athlone Care ensures that the personal care of service users is provided by qualified and competent staff. All staff in the organisation are competent and trained to undertake the activities for which they are employed and
responsible. Newly appointed care or support workers delivering personal care who do not already hold a relevant care qualification are required to demonstrate their competence and register for the relevant NVQ in care award within the first six months of employment and complete the full award within three years. Our service Managers hold nationally recognised management qualifications Records of training and development undertaken and the outcome are kept on a central development file and on individual personnel files.
